Clio Fine Arts Festival


"CLIO FESTIVAL OF FINE ARTS"
SPONSORED BY THE CLIO AREA ART SOCIETY
The Clio Area Art Society is a non-profit (501)(c)(3) organization.  Our mission is to coordinate, educate and develop cultural and artist activities in the Clio area and surrounding communities and to provide artist an opportunity to demonstrate and display their art.
We would like to invite you to participate in the 2nd Annual Clio Festival of Fine Arts.  All entries will be juried.
When: Saturday      July 30th, 2011              10:00am to 8:00pm
           Sunday         July 31st, 2011              10:00am to 5:00pm
Where: Railway Street, next to Veterans Memorial Park, Clio, Michigan located off I-75 exit 131, turn east onto Vienna Rd (M57) about 1.5 miles to downtown.
The Festival of Fine Arts Committee will present an extensive advertising drive to promote and attract visitors to the Festival through television, radio and printed media ads, street signs and posters throughout the area.
Amenities include booth sitters, setup & tear down assisance, free water throughout both days, morning coffee, juice and donuts at the Hospitality Tent, along with live entertainment by local performing artist.
Admisstion & Parking for the Festival is free and Food Vendors  will be available.
CONDITIONS OF THE CLIO FESTIVAL OF FINE ARTS:
*  SALES - Responsibility for Michigan Sales Tax (6%) collection/payment belongs to the artist.
*  EXHIBITORS BOOTH SPACE - Artist booth location is predetermined. Booth size will be 15"x 15".  Artist must provide everything for set-up. Tents/canopies must be fire retardant, properly set with tent weights for hard or grassy surface. Artist will receive a packet upon arrival which contains Booth Space assignment and other vital information..
* Artist Booth - Must be open and staffed during show hours.
* Art Work - The Clio Festival of Fine Arts is a juried event.  Artwork and Prints must be produced by the artist.  No commercial patterns or import items will be accepted. Artist offering quality and uniqueness will be considered.
* Note - The Clio Festival of Fine Arts committee/jurors reserve the right to disqualify and dismiss artist who violates these rules.
* Participation in previous years does not guarantee acceptance - We have a new jury committee each year.
* Over Night Security - Is the responsibility of the Artist.  All tents must be secured and enclosed with side walls.  The Festival's committee will be on site Friday and Saturday nights.  City Police will also be patrolling the site.
* Entry - Complete application, submit (3) photographs of your finished artwork and (1) photograph of your display booth.  Please note on the back of your photos your name, the name of art piece, and the prices you intend to charge.  Also, include a brief statement of your art work making process.
* Enclose - Two (2) checks, one (1) in the amount $100.00 for the booth space and one (1) for $15.00 jury fee ASAP for best booth space assignment.  Deadline is April 30th, 2011.  Entries after April 30th, will be subject to a $20.00 late fee. Any check returned for insufficient funds will be charges a $25.00 processing fee.
* Make check payable to "Clio Area Art Society.
* Mail to: Clio Area Art Society, Attn: Carolyn Bentley, P.O. Box 405, Clio, Mi., 48420.  Please include a self-address, stamped envelope for your return notification of entry acceptance or rejection.
* No Refund - will be given after your acceptance notification has been sent.  If accepted, your photographs will be returned to you in your packet on the day of your registration. If you are not accepted your photos and the application fee (not the Jury Fee) will be returned to you in your self-address envelope
* Registration - and tent set-up available on Friday evening, July 29th  between 6pm and 8pm. Or on Saturday morning, July 30th beginning 7am.  All set-up must be complete by 9am and vehicles removed to designated parking area.  Please indicate on your application which day you will set-up.
* Special Needs - or requirements must be in writing and included with your application. The Flint Convention Center is helping us reserve a block of rooms in the nearby area for over night vendors. More information on lodging and resturants will be provided later.

* "Best in Show" -  Award of $100.00 will be determined by the Show Jurors.

  I, THE APPLICANT, HAVE READ THE CONDITIONS OF THE CLIO FESTIVAL OF FINE ARTS AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE CONDITIONS.  ADDITIONALLY, I EXPRESSLY RELEASE THE CLIO AREA ART SOCIETY, CLIO FESTIVAL OF FINE ARTS COMMITTEE, CLIO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, CLIO DOWNTOWN DEVELOPEMENT AUTHORITY FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, INJURY TO ANY PERSON OR LOSS OR DAMAGE OF GOODS WHICH MAY ARISE FROM THE LICENSING AND OCCUPATION OF THE EXHIBIT SPACE.  AND, I AGREE TO HOLD AND SAVE ALL PRODUCERS AND OWNERS OF THE SHOW SITE(S) HARMLESS OF ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE BY REASON THEREOF.  I UNDERSTAND THAT IF THIS LICENSE APPLICATION IS ACCEPTED I GIVE PERMISSION TO USE MY NAME/BUSINESS NAME AND SLIDES/PHOTOGRAPHS SUBMITTED AND ANY AN ALL PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN AT THE SHOW OF ME OR MY ITEMS FOR ANY AND ALL PURPOSES.
