I know that the silver brush company carries synthetic brushes that will behave as an animal hair brush would. Examples of brushes that are synthetic would be taklon and golden taklon brushes, sable synthetics and then brushes made to behave as hog hair bristle. An artist can still paint with brushes without killing animals if that is their choice.Jason Leiseringhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09916863625104383481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564475738512503761.post-86561511946286568392010-12-13T09:50:28.657-08:002010-12-13T09:50:28.657-08:00Animal hair brushes are not gotten by merely givin...Animal hair brushes are not gotten by merely giving an animal a haircut...I learned how to paint with a knife, which also does not require solvents...grovecanadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08973601186376093274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564475738512503761.post-77828327400623473002010-12-08T11:50:51.610-08:002010-12-08T11:50:51.610-08:00Thanks Linda for your input. I like the stacking drawers as well, but had so many of these little used fast food containers I decided to put them to use rather than send them to the Landfill. Anything that makes the studio more efficient is going to help the artist creatively and give more time for painting.Christine Callahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08385333097395463414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564475738512503761.post-68891684273570216052010-11-21T18:48:12.381-08:002010-11-21T18:48:12.381-08:00I am trying to get my studio organized now. I moved over two years ago, but circumstances have prevented me from putting things in order until now.

I do agree, the a well organized space will increase creativity. One of my favorite ways to organize is the stacking, rolling drawer sets that you can buy at Wallmart or any such store. They also make much smaller stacking drawers that I use for a number of thins from batteries to scissors.

I also like to use the set of tiny drawers that you can set on counter or hang on a wall for blades and erasers, Picture hangers, putting various sizes in different drawers, so many small things artists tend to collect for matting and framing and making art of all kinds.

Having all of my materials where I can easily lay hands on them just makes me want to make use of them.

LindaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564475738512503761.post-26937659418917636952010-01-31T18:07:10.759-08:002010-01-31T18:07:10.759-08:00Great experiement.
